When Can I wash my hair

Most people have been told to to not wash their hair within the first month of having their locs. This is a big misconception. The thought is that without touching your it has the time to matte. This process only allows dirt to become matted within the loc itself. Starter locs can be washed every two weeks to ensure a clean foundation. Clean locs lock up faster than dirty locs. You should wash your hair as often as you are comfortable. This is different for everyone. If you work out or sweat a lot then you may wash your hair more often then someone who isn't working out or sweating as much. You can definitely wait four weeks as well if your fear is your locs unraveling. You can get your starter locs washed and retwisted every two weeks to ensure a clean foundation and a clean loc journey.
